Not so golden.
That's my life now. Actually it's what my married life has always been.
We were teen parents. Got pregnant and married my senior year in high school.
And look at us now! Three kids and 7 years later we are still married.
Everyone think's it's so awesome! Amazing! Well deserving! And it is... but not in the only way they thought.
People who knew us from high school, and people who learn the teen pregnancy story are always so impressed with us. "Look at you guys!".. they say. "So proud of you guys." "Hard work pays off!" And those eyes they look at us with.. they are so sincere.. and proud of us. Maybe even humbled because they thought we'd never make it. Heck, there was one point I didn't think we'd make it..
Everything they say is right. Yes it has taken hard work. And YES i'm freaking proud of us too.
But they are looking from the outside in.
And they don't know.
Not everything in our life is Golden. It hasn't been Golden. And never will be Golden.
Sex addiction is something we will deal with the rest of our married life here on Earth. He will always work to stay in recovery. And I will always be working to heal.
Is it worth it?
Yes.
